My beard is a part of my life, my lively hood, it exists because of the history that comes with it from our past. My beard represents my growth, it represents the power and patience that comes with it. The growth I experience is intertwined with how life is for me.Â
My beard is a part of my identity that I have grown very fond of, it reminds me of my past, the past of my culture and the historical significance it has had in our religion. My beard is a reminder of nature; allowing the hair to grow, unchanged, an aspect that many are not comfortable doing. This beard of mine is more than a part of my identity it is a reminder to me every time I am in unfamiliar territory that we have a responsibility to represent our faith and ourselves with kindness and love. To be patient and let things take shape how ever that may be.
My beard is who I am. It is a physical reminder of how far I have come in life. It brings wisdom, determination, and understanding. It reminds me of the opportunities that were overlooked because of it and the obstacles I've overcome and many more I will be up against.Â
I take great pride in my beard. Growing my beard is more of a duty rather than a chore. It makes me feel good about myself. As my beard grows stronger and healthier each day, so does my love for it.
